Why I Am Running
We need a responsive, responsible government. The third district needs a representative that is proactive – not reactive – in solving problems with infrastructure, parking, the University of Kentucky, student housing, and landlord/tenant issues.
The third district has such diversity in population, that to focus on one or two of the issues would neglect a large portion of the district’s population. For example, we can’t ignore senior citizens' concerns for the sake of student issues, and we cannot ignore student issues for the sake of beautification projects. We need representation that can balance all of these issues and bring all parties to the table to find common solutions that satisfy everyone.
I have a vision for Lexington, and I have a vision for the Third District, and those visions include working families living in single-family homes, walkable communities, a downtown that works for business as well as pleasure, and a government that works with its citizens to create the type of city that they want to live in, instead of the city that they happen to live in.
